We had the exciting opportunity to design and install a 15,000 sq. ft. splash park at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, inspired by the vibrant aquatic and terrestrial habitats of the Caribbean, as well as the native animals that inhabit the region. The park offers an immersive, ocean-themed experience that transports visitors into a world of water play and discovery. The centerpiece of the park is a multi-level custom structure featuring three expansive decks and a variety of slides, each designed to provide a thrilling water adventure. At the heart of the park is a 350-gallon custom tidal tank, simulating the ebb and flow of the ocean’s tides, which serves as both an educational and interactive feature. This dynamic tank adds a splash of excitement while educating visitors about the movement of water in the natural world.
To further enhance the aquatic theme, we incorporated a series of interactive spray features shaped like iconic marine animals such as sharks, dolphins, and stingrays. These fun and imaginative elements allow children to engage in playful water interactions while learning about the creatures that live in the Caribbean’s waters. In addition to these playful features, a variety of in-ground sprays were strategically placed throughout the park, adding an extra layer of excitement to the water play experience. To ensure guests have a comfortable and enjoyable time, four custom square umbrella shade structures were installed, providing much-needed relief from the sun. With its thoughtfully designed elements and immersive theming, the splash park at the Texas State Aquarium offers an unforgettable adventure for families, combining fun, education, and relaxation in one vibrant space.
