Kraftsman partnered with the City of Hurst to remove the existing playground and design and install a new, updated play area. The project includes a tower play structure with integrated shade for children ages 5 to 12, as well as a second play unit for children ages 2 to 5, also with integrated shade. The play area features a shaded 2-bay swing set, including a “see me” swing, which is a face-to-face swing designed to encourage interactive play between parents and children. To ensure safety and comfort, the playground is equipped with engineered wood fiber surfacing.
The tower play structure provides a variety of engaging play opportunities, such as climbing, sliding, and exploring, which helps children develop strength, coordination, and motor skills. The integrated shade structures are essential for protecting children from the sun, creating a more comfortable play environment that encourages outdoor activity even on hot days. These shaded areas also enhance the lifespan of the play equipment by minimizing sun exposure. Overall, the design promotes both physical and social development while ensuring safety, comfort, and accessibility for children of all ages.
